Heartland Christian Schools Update from Larry Gabel

Monday evening, our junior high volleyball team played CFE in our home gym. Good sportsmanship was demonstrated by all, and Heartland Christian School won both games. After the junior high volleyball games were completed, our high school volleyball played Cheylin in the best three out of five series.

Cheylin’s C team won three straight games which were at times very close. Our high school JV team had the opportunity to play Cheylin in a fourth game for Cheylin. Our young ladies battled hard and lost in the end by a score of 23-25. We observed many positive things!

HCS junior high volleyball team competed in the WKLL league tournament in Logan on Thursday. We placed seventh as a team by winning one game and losing two. Our high school team will compete in Lawrence this coming weekend in the Kansas Approved State Championship series. Go Crusaders!

Hearing checks were held on Tuesday morning at Heartland Christian School. Thanks to Sarah Standage for screening our students.

Youth Pastor, Codey Schmeiser, was our Chapel speaker on Wednesday (pictured above). Pastor Schmeiser focused on “healing”. His main point was that physical healing is temporary and spiritual healing is permanent. He challenged our students and staff to really think about this. Thank you, Pastor Schmeiser, for sharing with HCS students and staff!

Mr. Unger is planning to take his Earth Science class to the Little Jerusalem State Park to observe some chalk rock formations on Friday. They also plan to tour the Fick Museum in Oakley to check out many of the fossils on display.
