Abilene Hustlers Meet for March

The monthly meeting of the Abilene Hustlers 4-H club was held on March 2, 2026. This meeting was the annual parent meeting. President Johnna Frantz called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Roll call was answered with your favorite sport.

Next, the club talked about how the county made a profit of $15,673.66 from the pizza fundraiser. Also, for all campers wanting to attend camp Lakeside, council will cover $60 of the cost. Council discussed purchasing a fan for the beef barn, and council will now cover 25% of the attendance costs of any state 4-H educational events.

Torie Schrick then announced to the members that we will be doing a club skit and model meeting on Friday, March 27th at County Club Days. The club exchange meeting will be next month with the Solomon Valley 4-H club. Small animal weigh-in is April 18th and the back-up date is April 25th. Checks for the pizza fundraiser winners will be handed out at the model meeting.

For new business, the club discussed camp fee contributions and trophy award ideas. Lastly, Paul Schrick demonstrated taking blood pressure and Shannon Fikan demonstrated how to make love bugs. Sarah Gabel led the club in playing octopus tag.

The next meeting is set for April 13th, 2026. This will be the club exchange meeting with the Solomon Valley 4-H club. The meeting will begin at 7:00 pm and will take place in the 4-H Building.

Upcoming events include: Camp Lakeside Registration opens on March 1st, Super Saturday is March 21st in Hays, County Club Days is March 27th and Small animal weigh-in is April 18th (back-up date is April 25th).
