SHERMAN COUNTY 911 COMMUNICATIONS CELEBRATES NATIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATORS WEEK

April 12-18, 2026, Goodland, KS – Sherman County 911 Communications is celebrating the second full week of April as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. This week, sponsored by the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International and celebrated annually, honors the thousands of men and women who respond to emergency calls, dispatch emergency professionals and equipment, and render life-saving assistance to the world’s citizens.

Sherman County Commissioners and the Goodland City Commission will recognize National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week and honor Sherman County 911 Communications’ staff by releasing official proclamations.

About Sherman County 911 Communications

Sherman County 911 Communications became its own department in 1996. Prior to that, the Police Department took 911 calls and transferred county calls to the sheriff’s office to be dispatched out to the deputies. We have had the honor of serving residents of the City of Goodland and rural Sherman County residents for the last 29 years.
