Heartland Christian School varsity golfers competed in their first tournament of the year on Tuesday in St. Francis. Winning medals for the HCS Crusaders were Elijah Gabel – 8th and Samuel Hernandez – 7th.
Also on Tuesday, our junior high track team competed in Goodland. Placers in Goodland meet: Clover Frantz was first in 7th grade mile; and Lucy Anne Lager was first in 7th grade High Jump, 3rd in 400 and first in 800. Haven Sowers was 3rd in 8th grade mile. The top three medaled, but we had several in the top 10, which was awesome with a big meet and big schools! Good job!
This past Wednesday, our forensics team participated in the WKLL league meet in Ransom. Heartland Christian School placed 3rd in the league meet. Thursday afternoon, our junior varsity golfers competed in the Colby JV tournament. All five golfers improved! Gavriel Hertel tied for third place but lost a score card playoff and had to settle for the fourth-place medal. Samuel Hernandez tied for first place but lost in a close playoff hole and placed second.
On Thursday evening, Heartland Christian School held their spring music program in the gymnasium. Thank you to our students and Mrs. Leebrick for all the planning and implementation that goes into a program such as this. Pictured on the last page are Mrs. Donley and Mrs. Schmeiser being recognized on the State Senate floor for being past recipients of the KAIRS State of Kansas outstanding Teaching Award.
Enjoy your weekend!
