Solomon Valley 4-H April Update

The monthly meeting of the Solomon Valley 4-H Club was help on April 13th at 7:00pm at the 4-H building. It was our clubs exchange meeting with the Abilene Hustlers 4-H Club. The meeting was called to order by Brody Stramel, vice president. Flag salute and the 4-H Pledge was by Anthony Haag. Roll call was “What is your favorite farm animal?” It was answered by 17 members & 3 leaders present. After roll call we had the recognition of our special guest, Dr Sam Funk. He talked about the camp Lakeside in Scott City, KS that he is a part of and all the new projects they are bringing to the 4-H camp!

Next on the agenda, Brylie Harter gave the review of the treasurer’s report. Pete Ziegelmeier gave our club the leaders report. He reminded us that small animal weigh-in is this Saturday, April 18th at the fairgrounds. Also, YQCA training is held on April 23th and horse papers are due by May 1.

For our committee reports, Emerson Sloan told us that our club was a part of giving 50 thank you cards to all the volunteers that helped with 4-H. For new business, we discussed the Sons of the American Legion flag donation and how much our club would be donating. The meeting was adjourned. The next meeting will be held May 11th.
