The monthly meeting of the Solomon Valley 4-H Club was held on May 11th at 7:00pm at the 4-H building. The meeting was called to order by Nash Ziegelmeier, president. Flag salute and 4-H pledge was by Cobin Curry. Roll call was, “What is your favorite sport?” It was answered by 19 members and 3 leaders present.
Next, Brylie Harter gave our club the review of the treasurer’s report. Pete Ziegelmeier gave the leader’s report. He reminded us that the second YQCA training will be held on May 28th for the 4-H members who did not attend the first training.
For committee reports, Milo Burvee shared with our club the progress of reaching the purple seal. For new business, our club approved the budget for the entire year, as well as the budget for fair week. We will also be doing an educational tour. The committee for that is the Crouse, Haag, and Wolf families. To wrap up the meeting, we had one project talk led by Ben Haag. He talked to us about the history of cattle drives and how he enjoyed learning about them. The meeting was adjourned. The next meeting will be held on June 8th.
