Sweet Thunder 14U Claims Third Place with 4-2 Weekend in Dodge City

June 13, 2026
Sweet Thunder 14U finished in 1st place at Great Bend on June 7.

The Colby Sweet Thunder 14U softball team continued its strong summer season June 13-14, finishing 4-2 and earning a third-place finish at a competitive tournament in Dodge City. After capturing the Silver Bracket championship a week earlier in Great Bend, the Thunder once again showcased balanced offense, solid pitching, and timely defensive plays against quality competition.

Sweet Thunder opened the tournament Friday with a 6-3 victory over Sandlot. Londyn McKee set the tone with two hits and two runs scored, while Kobee Parks added two hits. Timber Lindberg drove in two runs and scored twice, and Cashlyn Moss collected two hits and two RBIs. In the circle, Ella Mariman worked all five innings, allowing just three runs while keeping Sandlot in check.

The Thunder then battled back from an early deficit to defeat SC Fever 9-7. After falling behind 5-1, Colby erupted for four runs in the third inning and four more in the fourth to take control. Timber Lindberg sparked the rally with a pair of hits and three RBIs, while Brynnley McLemore, Londyn McKee, and Ella Mariman each recorded two hits. Kobee Parks struck out nine batters in four innings of work.

Friday's final game proved to be the most dramatic. Sweet Thunder built a 9-3 lead against Lady Legends before seeing the advantage disappear in the fifth inning. Rather than fold, the Thunder responded immediately when Kitana Fisher reached base and Korrin Fisher delivered the game-winning RBI single for a thrilling 10-9 walk-off victory. Kobee Parks drove in three runs, Londyn McKee collected three hits, and Timber Lindberg struck out four batters in the complete-game effort.

Sweet Thunder carried that momentum into Saturday morning with an 8-3 victory over the Purple Panthers. Ella Mariman led the offense with two hits, two RBIs, and two runs scored while also striking out seven batters in 4.1 strong innings. Aubree Reinert added two hits, and two runs scored, Paige Cox recorded two hits and an RBI, and Brynnley McLemore doubled and drove in a run.

The final two games came against some of the tournament's toughest competition. Sweet Thunder dropped a 9-0 contest to Venom Beckley before closing the weekend with a 7-3 loss to Kansas Heat. Despite the setbacks, Colby remained competitive throughout the tournament and received standout defensive efforts from Brynnley McLemore in center field, including a pair of highlight-reel catches that prevented extra-base hits. Catchers Paige Cox and Londyn McKee were also praised for their work behind the plate, while Timber Lindberg delivered several strong pitching performances against quality opponents.
