Heartland Christain School Update

Thanks to our teachers and parents who made our parent/teacher conferences a success. We hope to encourage communication with our parents and teachers to help provide the best education for our students. Also, thanks to our parents who provided sandwiches and treats for our teachers.

A special thanks to Diane and Nate Harter for fixing and replacing the light bulbs and fixtures in the gym this past Friday evening. Also, the banners that needed to be taken down were removed, others put in more appropriate places along with the clock battery replaced. Many thanks, also, to those who helped unload and load the scissor lift.

Monday evening, HCS hosted Brewster and Triplains in junior high volleyball. We defeated Brewster in both games but lost two out of three close games to Triplains. Our junior varsity played Brewster to finish the night. Each team won one game.

Tuesday, HCS high school traveled to Brewster to play Northern Valley, Weskan, and Brewster. Our JV team won against Weskan. Our varsity team played well against Northern Valley and Weskan but came up a little short.

Our student council led the “See You at the Pole” this past Wednesday morning. President Gavriel Hertel shared information and background, helped lead two songs, divided those present into four separate groups, and encouraged each one in their groups to pray for our students, our school, other schools, our leaders and our country. Thanks, STUCO!

Our Chapel speaker was our own Mrs. Tiffany Martin. One of her main points was from Mark 23:29-33, which refers to which of the Ten Commandments is the greatest? “The Lord our God is one: and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength. The second is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself”. Mrs. Martin expounded on each of these while involving our students in the discussion. Thank you, Mrs. Martin, for sharing with all our students and staff!

Thursday morning, Dr. Jeff Morrison from Vision Source, and his wife Rachelle, provided a vision screening for all our students. Thank you, Dr. Morrison and Vision Source for providing this screening for our students.

The HOPE meeting that was scheduled for Thursday evening has been moved to Thursday, October 15th due to the rain and muddy roads. Please plan to attend on October 15th.
