Rexford Middle School Volleyball Season Opens at Home

The Golden Plains Middle School Volleyball team played against Logan Palco in Rexford on September 3 for their first game of the season. The A-team lost to the Trojans in two sets, and the B team also lost in two.

The A team just couldn't get the ball rolling, losing 6-25 in the first set. In the second set, they got more confident and kept up with the Trojans but ultimately still fell 20-25.

“I think the game went pretty well,” said Brookelynn Vahling, 8th grade.

“The second set was better than the first. I think for our next game we can work on talking more. At the beginning we were very nervous, and couldn’t get our minds straight,” added Isabel Bieker. “But in the second set we came out more confident and caught up with them,”

The B team also lost their two sets against Logan, with the first set being 19-25 and the second set 18-25. “It was fun, and I thought it went well for our first game,” said Dally Hynek, “but I think we can call for the ball more going into the season.” The middle school girls will go to play Grinnell/Wheatland on September 10 in Grainfield.
