A special thanks to everyone who helped in any way this past weekend during our school workdays. Many positive things were accomplished and able to be marked from our to do list: carpet squares laid; plugins replaced; lights replaced; carpet fixed; phone lines ran to art and music room; lines painted on parking lot; cleaning and dusting; TV & bracket hung.
HCS student council election results are as follows: President – Gavriel Hertel; Vice President – Emrey Welsh; Secretary – Ruth Leebrick; Liaison – Jane Villmer; Representatives- Amiah Herte; Elijah Gabel; Isaac Kersenbrock; Grace Beckley Craft; and Aleha Gabel.
Tuesday evening, our HCS high school volleyball team traveled to Brewster to compete in their first competition of the year. We lost to Wallace County but stormed back to defeat Tri-Plains and Brewster. Keep working and improving!
Pictured above is Pastor Kyle Bloom from the Gateway Fellowship Church in Oakley. Pastor Bloom was our Chapel speaker this past Wednesday. He focused on our theme for the year of “Rise Up”. Pastor Bloom shared practical ways that we can all rise up to serve others to help fulfill what God has called us to do. Thank you, Pastor Bloom!
Thursday evening our HCS high school volleyball team played Oakley and Colby’s C teams at Colby High School. HCS won one out of three against Oakley but lost both games to Colby. Our serves continue to improve.
Also, on Thursday Elijah and Korin Gabel ran in their first cross country meet at Goodland. They ran representing CFE. Good job!
A reminder that we will NOT have school on this coming Monday, Labor Day. We will have school next Friday, 9-11-26.
