Drivers from Colby, Levant, Rexford, and Oakley were well-represented and competitive across the board during the latest IMCA race night, with local racers placing throughout the standings in the Hobby Stock, Northern SportMod, Modified, and Stock Car divisions.
The IMCA Hobby Stock feature saw five Colby-based drivers take to the track, with Levi Jones earning the highest finish among them. Jones placed seventh overall in the 20-lap A Feature after a solid second-place performance in Heat 2. Austin Janousek followed with a ninth-place finish in the feature and a runner-up spot in Heat 3.
Colby’s Bruce Plumisto also showed strength early on with a second-place heat finish but faded in the feature, coming home 12th. Cash Tubbs placed 14th after an impressive start from the front row, and Levi Lippelmann was off to a strong night with a third-place heat result before exiting the feature early due to mechanical issues (DNF).
Colby’s Josh Barnhart delivered one of the standout performances of the night, storming from a fifth-place start to take the checkered flag in the Northern SportMod A Feature. Barnhart also surged from eighth to second in the heat, showcasing both speed and racecraft on his way to victory.
Teammates Jasen Gray and Donovan Ohlrogge both represented Colby in the same division, with Gray finishing sixth in the feature and fifth in the heat. Ohlrogge rounded out the field in both sessions, taking ninth in the main event and ninth in the heat after a tough draw.
In the IMCA Modifieds, Levant’s own John Fabrizius showed competitive pace in a stacked field. He earned a third-place result in Heat 1 but slipped to ninth in the 20-lap A Feature after starting on the front row. Despite the drop in finishing position, Fabrizius held his own against tough regional competition.Oakley’s Bencken Battles in SportMod
