Ethan Corson Democratic Governor Campaign update
January 12, 2026
Grassroots momentum and statewide organizing continue to power a strong start
FAIRWAY, KS — State Senator Ethan Corson announced today that his campaign for Governor of Kansas has raised more than $900,000 since launching on July 22, 2025, marking a major milestone fueled by broad grassroots support statewide.
Corson, the first Democrat ever elected from his Senate district, has built his reputation as a bipartisan problem solver focused on kitchen-table issues like world-class public schools, lower costs for working families, and attracting new jobs to Kansas. In the Legislature, he worked with Republicans and Democrats to eliminate the food sales tax, cut property and income taxes, remove taxes on Social Security, and deliver targeted relief for seniors, veterans, and working Kansans. That record, paired with a campaign built on showing up and listening, has continued to drive early momentum heading into 2026.
Governot Laura Kelly endorsed Corson's Campaign, calling him "the most qualified and most suited to be our next Governor." Her endorsement underscored Corson’s record of delivering results for Kansans, including cutting taxes, lowering costs, supporting public education, and creating jobs. It also reflects the broad coalition Corson is building heading into 2026, with support from Republicans, Independents, and Democrats who want steady, common-sense leadership that puts Kansas first.2025: By the Numbers
“Our campaign is about creating a Kansas where the next generation can build a life right here, and this milestone is proof that people all across the state believe in that vision,” said Ethan Corson. “This campaign is powered by Kansans who are chipping in and showing up because they want lower costs for families, the best public schools in America, safe communities, and a growing economy in all 105 counties.”
