The monthly meeting of the Solomon Valley 4-H Club was held on February 9th at 7:00pm at the 4-H building. The meeting was called to order by Nash Ziegelmeier, president. Flag salute and 4-H pledge was by Brody Stramel. Roll call was, “What is your favorite Valentine’s Day candy?” It was answered by 21 members and 2 leaders present.
Next, Brylie Harter gave our club the review of the treasurer’s report. Pete Ziegelmeier and Sara Sloan gave the leader’s report. They informed us that beef weigh-in is this Saturday, February 14th, from 9am-12pm. Also, small animal weigh-in will be April 18th. Lastly, they stated that County Club Days will be on March 17th this year.
For committee reports, Anthony informed our club about how far we are to getting a purple seal for our club. The next committee that was discussed was the T-shirt committee. Rosey Ziegelmeier let our club vote for a new t-shirt design, since our club now has a lot of new members. For new business, our club has decided to participate in volunteer appreciation week, donating to our community supporters as well! To complete the meeting, we had three project talks. Gabe Cook, demonstrating how to change your car oil, Anthony Haag, presenting to us how to soil sample, and Emma Haag, teaching us how to sew. The meeting was adjourned. The next meeting will ne held on March 9th.
